Gua Sha

Gua sha is skin rubbing/scraping technique that is used for acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain and stagnation of blood and qi. It is frequently used for colds, respiratory, flu conditions as well as improving circulation and reducing pain. A rounded edge tool is used on the skin to produce the raised petechiae or “sha”. The resulting redness from this technique generally disappears after 2-3 days.
